With the summer holidays virtually on us, I thought it would be a good idea to find some ways to make sure that I get some time to myself. If you are anything like me, as much as I love the summer holidays and having the kids around, I find that I rarely get time to myself and as we advance through the holidays I find my patience fraying and often just want to escape the family all together! The bottom line is, everyone needs some time for themselves and for parents this is especially so.
Just as I was thinking about doing this, I happened to be recommended a book called “Take Time for Your Life” by Cheryl Richardson. It’s weird how things like that show up in our lives; we think about doing something and before we know it, something is presented to us, to guide us down that very particular path. More details about this book about this book can be found here:

This book is rated a #1 best seller and it offers an inspiring, practical, seven-step program to help you create the life you want. I think that many of us will often have the life we want but are too tired and busy to even realize it and actually appreciate it for all that it is. The million dollar question is: How do we create time for ourselves in an already busy life? Who knows, maybe this book will give us some valuable ideas?
I thought that it would be interesting to write a blog on each step, take what is recommended and apply it to “Taking Time for Your Life” specifically AS A PARENT. With me doing this, it means that you get to accompany me on my journey to try and create more time for my life so you can learn how to take time for your life without even having to read the book!
The book is laid out in 7 simple steps, so starting next week and for the next seven, I am going to take you through it with one, as brief as I can make it, blog per step.
I hope that you will enjoy this and find it as stimulating as I know I am going to. Happy Summer and here’s to finding some ways to create some time for ourselves!
